1. Who We Are
TekBye is a registered trade name of TekTreat LLC, a Washington limited liability company. TekBye buys used consumer electronics (mainly cell phones) directly from individuals and businesses in the Portland, OR / Vancouver, WA area. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the terms that apply when you text or call us.
2. Information We Collect
- Contact information you give us, such as your name and phone number.
- Device information you share so we can make an offer, such as model, storage size, carrier, condition, and the device’s IMEI or serial number.
- Messages and photos you send us by text (SMS/MMS), including photos of your device or its box.
- Transaction records when we buy a device from you, as required by law.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To answer your questions and give you a price quote.
- To verify a device is eligible for purchase (for example, checking that it is not reported lost or stolen and is not activation-locked).
- To arrange a meeting time and a public meeting place if we agree on a deal.
- To keep purchase records that secondhand-dealer laws require us to keep and report.

4. Text Messaging Terms (SMS/MMS)
When you text us first, you are agreeing to receive reply text messages from us about your inquiry — for example, questions about your device, a price quote, and scheduling details. We do not send marketing text blasts.

- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
We do not share your mobile phone number or your text messaging opt-in with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third party.
5. How We Share Information
- Service providers: companies that help us operate, such as device verification services, messaging delivery providers, and payment processors. They may only use your information to provide services to us.
- Legal requirements: we report purchase records where secondhand-dealer laws require it, and we respond to lawful requests from law enforcement.
We do not sell your personal information.
6. How Long We Keep Information
We keep transaction and reporting records for as long as the law requires, and we keep other information only as long as we need it to run our business.
